The THRASSCHART provides a concrete focal point for teaching the 44 phonemes (speech sounds) of spoken English and the graphemes (spelling choices) of written English. THRASS gives explicit instruction in phonological awareness, code-breaking and metacognitive strategies, empowering learners with the skills to become truly independent.
